John Reinhart

John F. Reinhart

President and CEO

John Reinhart was named Chief Executive Officer of Maersk Line, Limited (MLL) in 2000 and President in 2004. He has also been a member of MLL’s Board of Directors since 1999.

In 1991, John joined Maersk Inc. in Human Resources. In 1992, he joined Universal Maritime Services (UMS) where he was General Manager of Maintenance and Repair, General Manager of Operations, and eventually President of UMS. More...

Steve Carmel is responsible for all technical and operating activities at MLL. He previously held positions in operations and finance for U.S. Marine Management, Inc. and MLL.

Steve began his career sailing as a deck officer and Master primarily on tankers for Maritime Overseas Corp. and the Military Sealift Command. More...

Prior to joining Maersk in 2004, Mike Hopkins was a partner at the law firm of McKenna Long & Aldridge, LLP, in Washington, D.C.  For more than 10 years, Mike was also a U.S. Navy Supply Corps Officer, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander. More...

Ed Hanley has over 25 years of operations and ship repair experience with U.S. and international flag vessels. As a member of the senior management team, he is responsible for all maritime labor activities, collective bargaining, marine personnel, marine payroll, safety and quality compliance and is the business unit owner for the liner and ro-ro fleet. Torben Svenningsen joined MLL in July 2009 and is responsible for government sales, including the Northern Distribution Network (NDN) for the U.S. Flag Transportation Services business unit.

In 2008, Gordan Van Hook joined MLL and focuses on ways that U.S. maritime services can leverage commercial best practices and innovation in energy efficiency, sustainment, sea-basing, sealift, modularity and commercial ship conversions. Maersk Line, Limited (MLL) is governed by a Board of Directors of eight members.
