Maersk Line, Limited (MLL) is an American company, headquartered in Norfolk, Va., that provides U.S. flag transportation, ship management and technical services to government and commercial customers. As a business within the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group with an independent board of directors comprised of all U.S. citizens, MLL uniquely combines unparalleled experience, maritime expertise and global intermodal capability. In 1983, MLL won its first government contract to convert and operate five military prepositioning ships. Since then, we have managed and operated more than 90 vessels of varying types and sizes. With the largest U.S. flag commercial fleet, we employ approximately 900 U.S. mariners daily and work with all U.S. maritime unions.

Our scope of services encompasses:

• U.S. Flag Transportation Services - offer flexible and reliable end-to-end distribution for U.S. government cargo, from military sustainment and humanitarian aid to complex unit moves and assorted breakbulk items.
• Ship Management and Chartering - operates noncombatant ships for the U.S. government and charters a fleet of tankers, combination and dry bulk ships, to deliver a wide range of cargo around the world at competitive prices.
• Maritime Technical Services (MTS) - apply proven program management and lifecycle strategies to optimize the performance of maritime assets. MTS draw on MLL’s experience operating, managing, modifying and converting diverse vessels to reduce total ownership costs and increase operational reliability.

Farrell Lines, a subsidiary of MLL, offers roll-on/roll-off shipping services to the U.S. military. MLL operates pure car/truck carriers under U.S. flag to meet worldwide distribution requirements of the armed forces.
