MLL will achieve the SHEMS objectives through the following measures:

  • A commitment for improving health and safety performance of shore-side and vessel personnel by:
  • Conducting drills and training to ensure that personnel are prepared for emergencies related to both safety and environmental protection
  • Conducting both shore-side and shipboard audits to determine the effectiveness of the SHEMS
  • Providing physicals and health screenings
  • Annually reviewing the SHEMS objectives and targets
  1. A commitment to operate in compliance with applicable legal requirements, mandatory rules and regulations and other requirements to which MLL subscribes

The MLL Safety Management Plan and Safety, Health and Environmental Protection policy will be implemented and maintained at all levels of the MLL organization, both ashore and afloat. Copies of the policy are posted on the MLL website, all owned/operated vessels and throughout the office.
