2000

  • Maersk Line, Limited received two $64.8 million awards for five year Time Charter of Atlantic Class Container Vessels to the Military Sealift Command.
2002
  • Maersk Line, Limited awarded a five-year contract to operate and maintain eight large, medium-speed, roll-on/roll-off ships for the U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command.
  • A clean product tanker, the MAERSK RHODE ISLAND, is purchased by Maersk Line, Limited and flagged U.S.
2003
  • Maersk Line, Limited completes the purchase of 4 modern 4,300 TEU Panamax G-Class vessels and flags them into U.S. registry. These vessels were deployed in the Middle East to serve the U.S. military effort in operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
2004
  • Maersk Line, Limited announces complete restructuring to serve transforming U.S. Military. Five new business areas have been created including Contract Vessel Management, Vessel Life Cycle Management, Special Vessel Management, Integrated Defense Logistics in addition to US Flag Liner Services. The new structure will bring considerably more logistics capability to the defense marketplace.
  • Maersk Line, Limited will transfer six Maritime Security Program (MSP) operating agreements to modern containerships. These will replace six existing MSP vessels built in the 1980s and managed by U.S. Ship Management, Inc. (USSM). The transfers will strengthen the MSP for military purposes and enhance the U.S.-flag presence in international shipping.

2005

  • Maritime Administration awarded MLL 19 Operating Agreements for a new Military Security Program that will last ten years
  • MLL awarded vessel contract for the operation of six vessels T-AGOS/T-AGM by the Military Sealift Command
  • MLL awarded Seaport-e Contract by the US Navy, allowing us to compete for a wide range of engineering and programmatic support contracts for various branches of the US Navy.
  • MLL awarded contract by the US Navy to maintain and operate eight Fast Sealift Ship vessels beginning in October.
  • MLL awarded a one-year contract to charter two vessels under the Military Sealift Command's Prepositioning Program. The two ships covered by the contract are the MV Lt. Col. John U.D. Page and MV Sgt. Edward A. Carter Jr.
