HOW TO APPLY:

In order to become an approved vendor, you must complete a Business Classification Profile form and a Vendor Questionnaire and submit it to the MLL Purchasing Department. Both of these forms can be obtained from any MLL Purchase Dept Representative.

1. Complete a Business Classification Profile form [46Kb PDF]. This form, updated annually, provides basic information regarding your business. This information allows us to track subcontract dollars with small businesses and is required for our participation in Government contracts.
2. Complete a Vendor Questionnaire form [36Kb PDF]. This questionnaire provides us information regarding your quality system, your past performance, and other information needed for us to determine your qualifications.
3. Forward these two forms to MLL, Attention: Purchasing Dept. MLL will review the data on these two forms and determine whether you are an approved vendor. Providing no disqualifying information is received, your firm’s name will be entered into our Vendor’s mailing list as an approved vendor.

1. MLL large dollar subcontracts are also announced on the SBA’s Sub-Net. These subcontracts normally involve ship overhaul, dry-docking, or vessel repair. Periodically review this site for possible opportunities from MLL approved shipyards.
2. Becoming an approved vendor on MLL’s Vendor Mailing list does not automatically ensure that you will start receiving requests for quotations. In order to make your firm known, submit line cards, fact sheets, or other information that outlines your capabilities. This information is passed on to buyers and retained in your Vendor’s file for future reference.
3. Register your firm with PRO-Net. Visit the SBA web site for more information on how to register.
4. Visit one of the Virginia Procurement Technical Assistance Centers to learn more about contracting opportunities with the Federal Government.
